International Conference of Sports for Women and Getty Images extend deadline for submissions to Sports Photography competitions to April 30 2015

Photography competitions open to Emirati Women with a chance to win cash rewards and a tutoring mentorship with a Getty Images photographer  

 

 

On the basis of the positive response to its two Sports Photography competitions, the International Conference of Sports for Women has announced today that the last date of submissions has been extended until 30th April.

The photography competitions are being held in the run up to the conference, and will feature the shortlisted entries at the Sports Photography Exhibition during the conference.

Emirati women photographers who have taken photos of women in sports in the region are invited to submit their work on www.fbma.ae . The theme of the photographs should be linked to the general theme of the conference, which is Sports without Barriers.

Twenty of the best submissions will be shortlisted by a panel of judges, comprising of one representative from Getty Images, two representatives of FBMA and one representative of twofour54, and exhibited during ICSW 2015 at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.

The winner will be chosen on the basis of technical skills and originality and will be the recipient of the Judges’ Choice Award of AED 15,000 as well as the chance to do an internship with a Getty Images photographer.

The other competition is for Emirati ladies on social media, where photographs taken by themcan be uploaded across all platforms using the hashtag #FBMASPE15and tagging @ADFBMA. The winner will be chosen on the basis of the most number of likes and will receive the People’s Choice Award of AED 7,500.

It goes to show that if an opportunity is provided, there is no dearth of talent amongst the women here. And this sort of sustained nurturing is what FBMA is aiming to provide via ICSW and other initiatives”, said Noura Al Kaabi, Head of the Media Committee of ICSW and CEO of twofour54.
