Continuous Success for the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy in 2023

Effective investment and a commitment to talent development at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy have led to enhanced women's participation in various sports fields.

 

The Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy concluded the year 2023 with a series of notable achievements, showcasing its excellence and commitment to talent development while promoting women's participation in diverse sports. In a historic moment for the academy, Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and President of the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and Al Ain Ladies Club, was honored with the Arab Woman of the Year Award for 2023. This recognition acknowledges her excellence and contributions to empowering women, reflecting her efforts in leading change and providing full support to maximize potential in both sports and other fields. Commenting on this honor, Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza emphasized the academy's importance in achieving this goal and reinforcing its vital role in the development process.

 

The tenth edition of the Fatima Bint Mubarak International Show Jumping Cup took place at the beginning of the previous season, showcasing many skills from the academy's participants. One equestrian secured fourth place in the clockwise single round category, while another achieved third place. As part of the academy's efforts to raise sports awareness and skill development, specialized workshops on sports and the importance of physical fitness were organized. The academy also participated in the Leaders Sport Business Summit in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, hosting over 20 major sporting events. The academy demonstrated a strong presence by organizing the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Padel Tournament- Ladies 2023 at the highest level, and the fifth edition of the Fatima Bint Mubarak International Blitz Chess Tournament for Women.

 

In basketball, the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Basketball Team maintained their victory in the previous year's general women's league and secured the President's Cup for Women's Basketball in 2023. This achievement marks a turning point in the team's journey towards excellence, enhancing the academy's status and contributing to the development of talents through training camps inside and outside the country. These camps aimed to improve performance, exchange experiences effectively throughout the year, and foster team spirit and understanding among players. The volleyball team of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy advanced to the quarter finals in the womens vollyball league 2023, and several players were selected to represent the national team in upcoming competitions.

 

In addition to the academy's teams participating in the Unified Sports Day organized by the UAE Special Olympics Foundation, the academy's continuous presence in sports fields throughout the year reflects its commitment to supporting players and affiliates. This includes participation in local and international tournaments that encourage competition and promote positive spirits, considering sports as a lifestyle for everyone. The academy also took part in the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2023, shedding light on women's roles in these sports, emphasizing their prominent diversity in activities, and showcasing their comprehensive vision for developing and empowering women in various fields.

 

These significant and continuous efforts play a vital role in achieving new accomplishments in the name of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi as the capital of sports, demonstrating complete dedication to the development and empowerment of women in various fields. The academy actively contributes to building a generation of inspiring and distinguished women, proudly representing the nation on international sports platforms.
