Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies Kicks Off Amid Large Audience Attendance

Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation "Mother of the Nation," and under the directives of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, and Chairwoman of Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and Al Ain Ladies Club, the 2024 Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies kicked off last night. The event was attended by a number of prominent sports and media figures, and a large audience that came to support the participating teams.

 

The tournament began with an opening ceremony held at the headquarters of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy in Abu Dhabi, which featured several sporting and entertainment segments. After the ceremony, the first match of the tournament started at 5:00 PM, where the Lebanese team Al Qalamoun won against their opponent with a score of "26/27." The second match followed, where the Kuwaiti team Fatat Al Oyun won against the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy volleyball team with a score of "17/25." The first day of the tournament saw strong and exciting competitions, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere for the spectators.

 

The tournament, which will run until September 16, is expected to witness fierce competition between the participating teams. Preliminary round matches will continue on September 13 and 14 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The semifinals will take place on September 15 at 5:00 PM, followed by the final match on September 16 at 7:00 PM. The closing ceremony will begin at 8:30 PM, with the awarding of the winning teams at 9:00 PM.

 

Teams from several Arab countries are participating in the tournament, including Fatat Al Oyun from Kuwait, 6th of October team from Egypt, Al Qalamoun from Lebanon, and the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy volleyball team from the UAE. The participating teams have expressed their deep gratitude for the excellent organization and the competitive environment provided by the organizing committee, which contributes to raising the level of the tournament and giving players a real opportunity to gain experience and develop in a high-level competitive framework.

 

In this context, Ruqaya Al Baloushi, captain of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy volleyball team, said: "I feel immense pride in representing my team and participating in a prestigious tournament like the Fatima Bint Mubarak Cup.
