During the official event press conference held today, Monday 30 January, at the Marriott Downtown Hotel in Abu Dhabi, it was revealed that a brand new activity zone will be introduced in this fourth edition, while more riders than ever before are expected to compete, establishing the Cup as an up-and-coming global equestrian event growing from strength to strength.

Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA) signed a memorandum of understanding with United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) as an official inauguration of the FBMA scholarships program which will start next year, where the academy will grant 10 scholarships to female students who are willing to study under the bachelor program of the physical education department in UAEU in addition to granting a valuable monthly incentive to each student under its scholarship program, while the UAEU commits for its part to attract outstanding female Emirati students in order to enroll them in the program and to provide the proper environment, the qualified managerial and technical staff and the facilities necessary for the success of the educational process in which the academy will monitor the progress of the enrolled students continuously.

On the morning of November 26th, eleven female Emirati students were preparing for their next big adventure. They set out to hike up to the top of Jebel Shams, Oman’s tallest mountain. Their goal? To celebrate the 45th UAE National Day, while breaking yet another barrier. The FBMA Ramadan Football Tournament for Government Entities has Concluded , which was held over the course of two days and was organized by Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy under the umbrella of the Abu Dhabi Sports Festival, in the sports hall of the Family Development Foundation in Abu Dhabi. In the light of the MoU signed between the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA) and the UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation, the FBMA held a workshop titled “Nutrition & Jiu Jitsu”, in an initiative aiming to raise awareness about healthy nutrition among the UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation female athletes, and to reinforce the concept of healthy eating as a vital part of their training to elevate their performance. The workshop was held at the Park Hyatt Hotel on Saadiyat Island with the attendance of thirty female athletes from the UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation, and it addressed the topic of the healthy dietary system that should be followed by athletes in general, and Jiu Jitsu athletes in particular.

Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, on Sunday attended the academy's annual iftar, held at the Park Hyatt Hotel under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), and Head of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.

Dr. Amal Al Qubaisi, with the presence of Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, Abdulla Nasser Al Suweidi and Aref Al Awani, crowned the winning teams of the championship and presented bronze medals the Abu Dhabi Urban planning team and silver medals to the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy team and finally gold medals to the Abu Dhabi Sports Council women football team.

FBMA signs a M.o.U. with the UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation
the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports academy (FBMA) signed a memorandum of understanding with the UAE Jiu jitsu Federation during the press conference held in the FBMA headquarters on Wednesday, the M.O.U. was signed by Mohammed Bin Dulmouk Al-Dhaheri, Board Member of the UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation, and Dr. Mai Al- Jaber board member of Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, which was attended by Talal Al Hashimi as a representative of Abu Dhabi Sports Council. The M.O.U is aimed towards elevating the participation of girls and ladies in the activities of jiu jitsu both vertically and horizontally, and to reinforce their presence in the international competitions in order to accomplish more Achievements in the march of Emirati Ladies sports.
FBMA honors shooting team champions
The Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy held a ceremony to honor the FBMA shooting team for landing the second place in the Abu Dhabi Sixth shooting championship of 2015 that witnessed the participation of 35 teams representing 20 different government organisations and was held by the Abu Dhabi International Shooting Company in cooperation with tawazun holding Corp. and Caracal Shooting Club under the supervision of Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Today is the opening of the UAE’s first Olympic-standard ice skating contest in ZSC ice Rink
Love Olympic figure skating? Then you’re in luck – because an international competition is taking place today and tomorrow the 3rd and 4th April at Zayed Sports City Ice Rink. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA), which champions women’s sports in the UAE, has teamed up with the UAE Ice Sport Federation, which governs all the UAE’s ice sports, to host the first Abu Dhabi FBMA Trophy. The contest is sanctioned by the International Skating Union, the governing body of the Olympics. This means participants will gain points that may see them compete at Olympic level. Only members of the International Skating Union can enter the contest. Roquiya Cochran is the event organiser and mother of Zahra Lari, the UAE’s own Olympic-hopeful. “Competitors are coming from over a dozen countries,” she says. “Six competitors from the UAE have also entered.” Free. 9am-4pm, 3rd-4th April. HH Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy board of directors chairperson, chairperson of Abu Dhabi ladies club, has praised the outstanding performance of Emirati athlete Alia Saeed during the 2014 Asian Games in South Korea. Alia has claimed the gold medal in the 10 K race.
Circuits on the Circuit
The event, named ‘Circuits on the Circuit’, will put as many as 700 women through their paces under the banner of a giant pink ribbon. It is organised by GoYAS, a weekly women-only fitness group, and is being sponsored by Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy.
