January 2021 sees many sporting, educational and community events that the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA) is keen to organize in Abu Dhabi, to suit the interests of females of all ages and nationalities. The aim to this is to encourage exercise and make it an integral part of the daily lifestyle of members of the community, also the impact of women's activities and the participation in the events contributes significantly to spreading happiness, optimism and raising the spirit of competition and challenges, which the Academy aspires to establish among the members of the community. Moreover it provides a direct support to Emirati women, that promotes and instill community and cultural values through educational seminars and community events, with the unlimited support of H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of FBMA, and President of the Abu Dhabi and the Al Ain Ladies Clubs, who have always been keen to provide all the elements of excellence in the fields of competitions and to strengthen the women at various levels, starting from the new strategic plan with the guidance of the wise leadership towards achieving the vision of 50 years to be a framework for action during the current period and to accomplish further developments and achievements.
The Academy tournaments continue throughout January, featuring some of the most popular events and activities among ladies in the community, as well as organizing some for the first time in line with the wishes of all groups that desire those types of sports such as karting. This is in the midst of the precautionary and health measures that ensure the right environment to cope with this pandemic during the events and to encourage participants to join, compete and spend a social and sports times in a safe environment.
The event that will be held during this month has a competitive nature through a series of events involving sports lovers, starting with the 2nd FBMA Bowling Tournament for Ladies, which will be held today; Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Khalifa International Bowling Centre, which serves to contribute to the expansion of the popular base of bowling among ladies and the official website of the Academy stated that the participation will be open to different ages and nationalities. Followed by the 7th FBMA Ladies Run, which will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021, it will also be open to all nationalities, ages and fitness stages, with distances that vary between 2.5, 5 and 11 KM in Al Hudayriyat Island . As well as on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 for the first 1.2 KM Karting Race in accordance with the highest safety standards and the latest at Al Forsan International Sports Resort. Registrations are accepted for ages 16 and above. It is also worth mentioning that a virtual educational seminar on The pursuit of wellness in a wearable-tech world for individuals through Zoom that will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 with the participation of many specialists in this field.
Ms. Nefeli Chondrogianni, Communication & Technical Affairs Manager at the Academy, noted that the Academy focuses primarily on the safety of the participants, explaining: "Our first and last concern is to host a sports events, that are essentially accompanied by the follow-up of the precautionary measures and requirements. According to the instructions set by the competent authorities and to focus on the health and safety of the participants to ensure their success, while continuing to spread the typical health culture in the community.” She continued “The Academy has achieved several successes by organizing tournaments during the previous season, which has witnessed great challenges, and this is an affirmation of the strength and success of the team. Which continues to reflect the high levels of competence and the ability to organize women's events, which is a clear demonstration of organizational excellence in the application of health procedures in a safe environment according to the highest standards, and reinforces the academy's position in empowering women at all levels, whatever the circumstances."
