200 Players from 35 countries in the World Bowling Chamionship For Ladies in Abu Dhabi
Under patronage of H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the UAE General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairperson of Family Development Foundation and Chairwomen of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Abu Dhabi city will be hosting the World Women’s Bowling Championship from the 6th to 14th of next December in Khalifa Bowling Center of Zayed Sports City (ZSC).
The Championship is going to be held with the attention and following from H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza, Chairwoman of the Fatima Bint Mubark Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA), President of the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, and with the supervision and support of Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and with cooperative organization between ADSC, FBMA, UAE Bowling Federation and ZSC, and with the partnership of Abu Dhabi Media and Abu Dhabi Sports channels. The Details about the championship were revealed in the Press conference that was held yesterday in the FBMA Headquarters and was attended by Mohammed Khalifa Al Qubisi, Head of UAE Bowling Federation, Aref Al Awanni Secretary General of ADSC, Mariam Al Mansouri, Representative of FBMA and Barry Bremens Representative of ZSC in addition to Zainab Al Hammadi and Sarah Husain Thabet of the National Women’s Bowling Team.
The championship is held regularly every four years and this year’s version is the second World Bowling Championship to be held in the international Capital city of Sports: Abu Dhabi; this comes in line with ADSC’s plans which are aimed to Fortify Abu Dhabi’s Leading role in the international scene by making it the number one destination for holding major international championships and sports events. The Championship’s includes single, double, tipple, quintuple and masters competitions where more than 250 participating players will be representing 29 countries which are: Australia, Bahamas, Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, Dominican Republic, UK, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Indonesia, Iran, South Korea, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden , Chinese Taipei, US, UAE, Ukraine and Venezuela.
Mohammed Khalifa Al Qubaisi expressed the pleasure and pride of UAE Bowling Federation and the bowling community in the UAE, in the holding and organization of the World Bowling Championship for two consecutive years where the World Men’s championship was held in Abu Dhabi last year in addition to the World Women’s Bowling Championship this year.
Al Qubisi stated : “ I’m glad to take advantage of this chance and present our wise leaders with appreciation and gratitude for their limitless support and great attention given to qualification and progress of women; for it is the reason behind Emirati women’s Ability to accomplish many achievements and gains in all fields and sectors, and as it is a testament to the continuous efforts and leading initiatives made by the UAE Government in order to provide all what is needed for the development of women. I also present my highest appreciation and gratitude to ADSC and its chairperson H.H Sheik Nahyan Bin Zayed for his continuous and unlimited support and for his active role in the success of all sport events taking place in Abu Dhabi”.
Al Qubisi Added: “ Our sincere thanks and appreciation to H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak (Mother of the Nation), for her generous patronage of the biggest women’s bowling event; and to FBMA and its chair person H.H Shiekha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed for providing us with their full support in organizing this event”. Al Qubisi expressed his gratitude to ZSC administration represented by Barry Bremens for taking part in hosting both championships over the last two years. He continued to say: “Abu Dhabi is looking forward to welcome more than 250 players, coaches, administrators and media personnel, from 29 countries from all over the world to participate in the championship that we have the honor to host and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all the participating national teams, and I hope the best for them in presenting a good competition fit for this great event and in making an excellent presentation of their skills; and in competing fairly for the championship title”; Additionally, Al Qubisi thanked all the international and local media covering this great event. For her Part, Mariam Al Mansouri expressed her deepest gratitude and appreciation to H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak (Mother of the Nation), for her openhanded care and her continuous dedication to the support to everything that contributes to the superiority of Emirati women.
Al Mansouri praised the wise guidance and supervision oh H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed and her devotion to the accomplishments of the Academy’s Mission and vision of elevating Emirati women’s sports in all aspects and sectors. Al Mansouri said: “the hosting and organization of the Word Women’s Bowling Championship in Abu Dhabi this year after hosting the World Men’s Bowling Championship last year is an evidence of the great level of progress reached by the sports community in the UAE; a progress that put the UAE in the center of international stage in various sports”. Al Mansouri also added: “ FBMA is dedicated to supporting this championship and to providing all what is necessary to insure the its success and to organizing it in the proper manner that reflects the high status of the Emirati sports sector”, Al Mansouri followed by hoping that the UAE National Team players would give the best performance in the championship and to gain good experience from competing with other international teams participating in the event and to demonstrate the pinnacle of the abilities and potential of Emirati women on the international scene; Finally, She concluded her speech by thanking all the supporters, sponsors and the contributors to the event.
Barry: “Zayed Sports City is ready to host this great event”. Barry Bremens, the representative of ZSC, expressed his great pleasure in Hosting the World Women’s Bowling Championship in Abu Dhabi; noting that ZSC have completed its preparations for the launch of the great event. Bremens Stated: “Zayed Sports City is proud to host the World Women’s Bowling Championship, and ZSC is always ready to host the biggest international championships through its excellent facilities that are suited for various sports”, he Added: “the World Women’s Bowling Championship is not the first to be organized by UAE, it is the third championship of its kind, following the World Men’s Bowling Championship which was organized last year, and it is for sure that Emirati women have reached and advanced level of progress in various sports; thanks to the great support of the wise leadership of the UAE, and we are sure that the UAE National team will give an honorable performance”.
Bermens continued: “ We thank all the organizers of the championship led by ADSC and FBMA, and the organization of such championships is for sure is going to contribute to the required leap in the level of performance through gaining experience and we wish success for the UAE National team and we hope that they deliver the desired results”.
Zainab Al Hammadi, bowling player of the UAE National Team, stressed that the team is ready to compete in the World Women’s Bowling Championship which will take place in Abu Dhabi by Stating: “there is no doubt that the championship is a great event, and it is our honor to represent UAE in it, and the national team is ready to give the performance necessary to honor the name of our nation worldwide”, She continued: “ We have been through an excellent period of preparations under the supervision of an esteemed coaching staff, and we will make sure to execute the coach’s instructions in order to accomplish the proper results”. Al Hammadi Added: “the championship will witness the participation of more than 200 of the world’s most prominent players, and the competition is going to be fierce for sure, and we shall be in closer contact with these players; hence, the benefits from this experience from this championship and elevating the level of the sport in the UAE; and certainly, bowling had lots of fans through the local tournaments; this is due to the great support we find from our wise leadership in all fields, specially sports. We thank FBMA for sponsoring us, and we are definitely going to make our best efforts to deliver the sought after performance to raise our nation’s flag high on the honoring podium”.
