Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy Concludes January’s Events with Karting

Under the Patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, President of the Abu Dhabi and the Al Ain ladies clubs. The Academy continues its series of successes by organizing sports and community events for January in Abu Dhabi. Holding the 1st edition of FBMA Karting Race last Wednesday 27th January 2021 at Al Forsan International Sports Resort.
In harmony with the international rules of the race, and within the standard course of the resort, at a competitive and encouraging safe environment. Aiming to push women to participate and shine in a race dedicated to amateurs and professionals by giving them the opportunity to join and compete. This type of race is held in an atmosphere of excitement that gives women the opportunity to demonstrate their transcendental skills. After reopening its doors in the light of the new Covid-19 pandemic, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Sports Council and with the participation of "64" ladies including professionals and amateurs in the field of karting.
Mariam Al Hosani managed to win first place, with ten laps in 1:17 which achieved the best time in a minute and a second. Fatima Al Muharrami came in second place with ten laps in 1 minute and 18 seconds, in third place came Ahlam Al Hammadi who made nine laps in 1 minute and 21 seconds.
The Race is open to all nationalities for ladies aged 16 and above. FBMA establishes several rules on the effectiveness that all participants must observe, like: driving safely at all times, listening to safety instructions carefully, not destroying any barrier on the track and following the banners of the organizing committee.
A total cash prize of 3,000 AED has been allocated for this race. The Academy collaborated with Al Forsan International Sports Resort, who provided the specific clothes and helmets on the day of the race. Details and safety rules were explained 15 minutes before the race kicked off to ensure the safety of all participants.
To conclude the event FBMA representative, Fatima Al Amri awarded the winners assuring that the participation of ladies in such events contribute greatly to spreading happiness, optimism and raising the spirit of competition. This is what the Academy aspires to unite among members of the community. The team will continue to organize such tournaments this year, she then continued saying: “We are glad to organize the 1st FBMA Karting Race, which allows ladies to practice sports and their hobbies. This turnout is proof that the Academy is heading in the right path, and will continue to have greater presence in many local and community sports events at the desire of the ladies in our society of all segments”.
Participants were overwhelmed by competing in this race held by the Academy for the first time, in proportion to their interests regardless of age and nationality. This is what FBMA aims to achieve by making sport an integral part of the everyday lifestyle of women in society. Along with empowering women athletically through activities provided by the Academy, which directly supports them to promote societal, cultural and health values.
