FBMA launches ladies-only at-home run challenge
Women across Abu Dhabi, and the UAE, are being encouraged to take part in a virtual run this week from the comfort of their own home.
A joint initiative from Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Academy (FBMA), the ladies-only run will have 3, 5 or 10 kilometer options, all to be completed within the confines of your home.
The run will take place on Wednesday, April 15, and participants can choose to complete the distance on a treadmill, in a garden, on a balcony or in their living room.
Those wishing to participate can register at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council website, and once signed up, they will receive an email with instructions.
To ensure your run time is counted and validated, participants will be asked to take a photo of their run time displayed on a watch or smart phone, and send it to the event team at events@gulfmultisport.com.
Abu Dhabi Sports Council is also hosting a general virtual race on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, open to men and women.
The event will challenge people to run or walk a 1, 3, 5 or 10km run, again, from within the confines of their home. More information and registration details can be found here.
The events follow similar initiatives in Dubai, challenging residents to take part in an at-home fitness challenge. The latest initiative, taking place this week, challenges residents to cycle 2.1km on a static bike each day.
